Free Responses:
When our tutors were asked the following questions, this is how they responded:
- Hobbies:
- I enjoy making hand stamped cards and memory albums.
Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I enjoy the challenge of seeing my students move in the positive direction. It makes me a better teaacher to find new ways to teach the same concepts.
Why should a student pick you?
- I have three children of my own, ages 5, 8 and 14. The oldest is a boy and the two younger ones are girls. I have been through the successes and growing pains of the different grade levels. While teaching my students, I always keep in mind the ups and downs I came across myself when I was a student and what my children have gone through. Every year that I have taught, I learn something new or improve on an idea/concept that I am already doing. I use these experiences to become a better teacher.
Personal Statement:
- All of us are different. Some of us are good in math or reading. Some are better in sports. We are all good at something. This give us self confidence. We need to use our confidence to help us through our weaknesses. We need to gain the same sense of confidence by working harder at the areas that we may not be as quick to understand. We may endure a lot of frustration and it may take longer than we think to achieve success. In the end, knowing that we have put our very best effort into the task, makes us all winners. We may not get it right away, but it will come when we least expect it.
